Cardi B and Ice Spice had a brief moment of bliss in between her war of words with an Internet troll.

On Wednesday afternoon, April 3, the Grammy award-winning rapper got involved in a verbal dispute with an influencer on X who called her “ghetto.” During the heated conversation, the influencer mentioned Ice Spice’s name in an effort to stir the pot as they went back and forth.

“Same reason why you felt comfortable calling me a Mexican when I’m Dominican and I asked you why you feel comfortable calling me a Mexican when ice and jharell Jerome Zoe Saldana are Dominicans and you don’t do that to them,” Cardi wrote.

“You do it to me because you know that’s what people use to hurt me… same way as you use my name in that video knowing exactly what you doing,” she added.

The young Bronx spitta saw the discourse and replied, “no offense bardi its cus i have a dominican parent & a black one 😭🖤” Cardi saw the response and made sure there were no misunderstandings about what she wrote. The “Like What” rapper opened up about her Trinidadian mother and her Dominican father, which gave the two artists a chance to bond over their heritage. She also made a request that surprised fans.

“I think there might be some confusion on what was said,” Cardi wrote. “I asked why he feels so comfortable calling me Mexican? I have no Mexican parents. My mom is Trini.. she came out of a whole black woman. My father is Dominican…I’m Dominican just like you. I also used other Dominicans as an example because as you should know a lot of times we get clustered into one because of the language.”

The two artists still have a solid friendship even though their collaboration never saw the light of day. For the unfamiliar, Cardi B had recorded a verse for Ice Spice’s breakthrough hit “Munch” two years ago. However, Bardi herself said that she didn’t like the verse she made and scrapped the collaboration completely. Since then, rumors have floated around about a potential beef between both artists, especially after Ice was embraced by Nicki Minaj. However, it seems like the two Bronx natives beat those allegations.
