Nearly 20 years after rapping about vomiting up his mom’s spaghetti on his iconic song Lose Yourself, Eminem is making Mom’s Spaghetti a reality with a new concept restaurant in his hometown of Detroit.
On Tuesday, the 48-year-old rapper delighted fans as he showed up to serve patrons in person and snap selfies at the restaurant, located in the alley between Union Assembly restaurant and The Fillmore (2131 Woodward Avenue).
The restaurant name is a reference to lyrics from his 2002 hit track Lose Yourself from his film 8 Mile not his actual mom Debbie Nelson, with whom he has had a troubled relationship with and locked horns in legal battles.

He was spotted posing for selfies with a number of fans, even flipping the middle finger to the camera in one snap.
One fan, Brendan Linden, shared his snap with Em on Instagram Tuesday evening, with the caption, ‘Ready to die now.’

The rapper announced the permanent restaurant Monday on his official website, which comes after a successful pop-up in 2017.
The pop-up first surfaced at The Shelter, a music venue at legendary St. Andrew’s Hall in Detroit, in conjunction with Eminem’s Revival album.
The pop-up also surfaced at Eminem’s 2018 performances at Coachella, Firefly and Governor’s Ball.

He also used his pop-up during the COVID-19 pandemic, teaming up with Union Joints to deliver Mom’s Spaghetti to frontline workers at eight Detroit hospitals.
‘We’ve had a lot of fun putting this project together with the folks at Union Joints, and the response from fans has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Paul Rosenberg, manager for Eminem.
‘The previous pop-ups were really a test for us to determine whether there was enthusiasm for a regularly-occurring Mom’s Spaghetti spot that would be open all year long,’ he added.

‘We are really pleased to announce the arrival of the walk-up restaurant and adjacent upstairs store, called The Trailer, where fans can experience a uniquely-curated environment and obtain merch and other items from Eminem and his new pasta operation,’ he concluded.
The Trailer space is a nod to B. Rabbit’s trailer from 8 Mile, which features, ‘Mom’s Spaghetti merch, items from the Eminem retail collection (including limited editions and coveted dead stock) and memorabilia from the Eminem archives.’
New drops and rotating stock will be happening in the retain space, ‘which is limited to eight Stans at a time,’ according to the announcement.
