It’s Iron Mike vs The Problem Child

Hello and welcome to our live blog for one of the most eagerly-anticipated – and controversial – boxing fights of the year: Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul.

The pair are facing off at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on Friday night, with the fight being broadcast live on Netflix.

Netflix reveals ring walk time for Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul

Netflix are hosting their first live boxing event tonight as Mike Tyson and Jake Paul come face to face.

The much-hyped fight is taking place at the home of the Dallas Cowboys with more than 70,000 people expected to be in attendance.

It will be streamed globally to Netflix’s 280 million subscribers.

The pair will conduct their ring walks at around 10pm local time at the AT&T stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday, 15 November.

Given that the UK is six hours ahead, that works out at 4am Saturday, 16 November.

However, a lot will depend on how the other fights on the undercard go so that is not an exact time.

There are seven other fights taking place, with Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano fighting in the co-main event for the WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring lightweight titles.

The undercard, coverage starts at 1am (GMT) on Saturday or 7pm (CT) over in Texas.

Though the result will go on each Tyson and Paul’s records, the rules are different from a standard heavyweight fight.

Firstly, the gloves will be heavier at 14 ounces instead of 10. This means the punches will not land as hard due to the extra padding, as well as protecting each boxer’s hands more than at 10-ounce gloves.

The rounds will also be two minutes each, instead of the usual three. And there will be eight rounds of boxing, not 12.

If you have a Netflix subscription, you’re all set as there is no extra pay-per-view charge.

The standard plan with adverts costs £4.99 or $6.99 a month with other packages coming in at £10.99 or $15.49 a month and £17.99 or $22.99 a month, respectively.

Sky also have some deals on at the moment which would allow you access to the fight.

They are currently offering Netflix, Sky Stream, with Sky TV and Sky Full Fibre 300 Broadband, all for just £36 as part of its Black Friday deal.

Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will be suspended regardless of who wins Netflix fight

Both Mike Tyson and Jake Paul will be suspended after tonight’s fight regardless of the result.

The 27-year-old YouTuber turned boxer will be taking on a 58-year-old Tyson in Netflix’s first ever live broadcast at the 80,000 capacity AT&T stadium in Texas.

Tensions boiled over at the weigh-in last night as Tyson slapped Paul across the face after the content creator appeared to stand on his foot.

Paul retaliated by calling the boxer an ‘angry little elf’.

According to the Mirror, Paul said it was Tyson who pushed for the match to be a professional bout instead of an exhibition.

The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation since implemented a condition that the duo would be suspended for rest for a minimum of seven days.

Regulations reportedly state that each boxer will be told to rest for three days per round fought.

This means that they are both facing a maximum of 24 days rest, given that the pair will meet over eight rounds.

If either fighter loses by a technical knockout, the beaten boxer will be suspended for a minimum of 30 days.

Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul ‘fight script’ has been leaked online

An alleged ‘script’ for Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson has been leaked online.

The showdown between the two boxers is taking place tonight in Texas but the last media event ahead of the fight descended into chaos on Thursday as Tyson slapped his opponent during the weigh-in.

However, after the event concluded, a document emerged on social media claiming to show the outcome of the fight, which had Paul winning in the fifth round.

Meanwhile other social media users claimed Google had also ‘leaked’ the outcome, but a different screenshot revealed an error, saying that Paul defeats Tyson by a unanimous decision following ten rounds despite the bout only being scheduled for eight rounds.

There is no evidence to suggest either document is genuine or that Paul vs Tyson is scripted.

It is not the first time Paul’s fights have been subject to ‘leaked script’ claims but each time these theories have been debunked.

Paul has been accused of ‘scripting’ his fights, but, as of yet, there has been no proof of any notion of foul play.

Nevertheless, the latest document has enraged fans on social media.

One user posted on X: “Mike Tyson will KNOCK OUT Jake Paul. The fight will last less than 3 rounds Tyson doesn’t give a damn about no script.”

Eagle eyed viewers spot the reason why Mike Tyson hit Jake Paul during weigh in

Eagle-eyed viewers have spotted a key detail in the build up to Mike Tyson slapping Jake Paul which suggests that it was not entirely unprovoked.

The remarkable scenes occurred during the weigh-in overnight as Tyson hit Paul, sparking a brawl on stage.

The pair were facing off ahead of their fight on Friday when Tyson decided to slap the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

However, new footage has emerged which shows Paul stepping on Tyson’s foot after crawling across the stage.

It is unclear from the footage whether Paul stepped on his foot purposefully or not, however he appears to be wearing shoes while Tyson is just in his socks.

Paul didn’t seem too perturbed by the slap, laughing at the crowd as Tyson was restrained by security. ‘The Problem Child’ later said on X that it was a “pinch me moment.”

There were remarkable scenes during the weigh-in overnight as Mike Tyson hit Jake Paul, sparking a brawl on stage.

The pair were facing off ahead of their fight on Friday when Tyson decided to slap the YouTuber-turned-boxer.

Paul didn’t seem too perturbed by the slap, laughing at the crowd as Tyson was restrained by security.

‘The Problem Child’ later said on X that it was a “pinch me moment.”

His brother Logan said the slap was “iconic” but that Tyson had made a mistake by making the bout “personal for Jake.”He added: “Tomorrow’s outcome will be utter devastation for Mike; the new face of boxing will be crowned tomorrow @jakepaul.”

Back in April, it was confirmed that the fight between 58-year-old Tyson and 27-year-old Paul would be sanctioned as a professional bout, and will go down on both men’s professional records.

The fight will be contested over eight, two-minute rounds with both Paul and Tyson wearing 14-ounce gloves in the ring and no headgear.

The bout will be Iron Mike’s first professional fight since 2005 and the first time he has stepped in the ring since he took on Roy Jones Jr in an exhibition in 2020.

Paul, meanwhile, last fought in February as he stopped Ryan Bourland in the first round, with his only loss coming to Tommy Fury last year.

Tyson and Paul had been due to face-off on July 20, but the fight was postponed after Iron Mike was hospitalised with a stomach ulcer camp and was advised by his doctor to refrain from any heavy training in order to recover.

In a new Netflix documentary about the build-up to Friday’s fight, Tyson opened up about just how serious the ulcer flare-up was, saying he feared he was ‘going to die.’
