Justin Bieber was caught up in a traffic accident on Wednesday night after a church service when he reportedly accidentally hit a photographer with his pick-up truck.

The singer was seen getting out of his car and checking on the injured man, who was lying on the floor and looked to be screaming in pain.

Police say he accidentally struck the man with his car after leaving a singalong with the Hillsong Church group in Los Angeles.

The 23-year-old looked concerned as he tried and failed to help the man to his feet – his offer of a hand up went ignored.

The photographer was seen lying on the floor and holding his leg as Mr Bieber spoke to bystanders and police.

Local news sites report Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian were at the service but were not caught up in the accident.

The pop star was reversing his car out of its parking space and turning right when the collision occurred.

He then stopped, walked out and checked on the photographer, who was lying on the ground behind it.

Mr Bieber asked the man if he was injured. He then explained what happened to police officers as he waited for an ambulance with the photographer.

Beverly Hills police Lt. Scott Dowling told the New York Daily News the collision had taken place at “extremely slow speed” just before 9.30pm local time.

The injured man was seen being treated at the scene by paramedics and was lifted into an ambulance on a stretcher.
