What a season it has been for Panarin and Quick.

Prior to their final game of the 2023-24 season, the New York Rangers announced that Artemi Panarin and Jonathan Quick were the recipients of the Team MVP and Players’ Player Awards, respectively.

Panarin, 32, has had a career year for the Rangers this season, tallying career highs in goals (48) and points (118) to go with 70 assists; he enters play on Monday ranked fourth in the NHL in points. It’s the second time he’s won the award, most recently winning it for the 2019-20 season.

Quick, 38, “best exemplified what it means to be a team player.”

As Igor Shesterkin’s backup, Quick has played to an 18-6-2 record with a 2.62 GAA and .911 SV%, along with setting the record for most wins by an American goaltender this season.

Quick was also the Rangers’ nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy, which is awarded to, “to the National Hockey League player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey.”

The team will play the final game of the season on Monday against the Ottawa Senators with everything to play for. With a win, the Rangers clinch not just the Metropolitan Division but also the Presidents’ Trophy with the best record in the NHL. Puck drop from Madison Square Garden is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
