The Sudbury Wolves have been a fantastic team on paper for the last few seasons. From David Goyette, to Quentin Musty, to all of the acquisitions they made at this year’s trade deadline, they had a team that could win this season. Unfortunately, that is not the way it finished.

The Wolves were swept in the second round by the North Bay Battalion, and they will have to wave goodbye to many players this off season.

Head Coach Ken MacKenzie has begun this cycle as the Wolves will likely head into a rebuild, and MacKenzie has stepped down from his role with the team. Sudbury will be bringing in a new coach ahead of next season, and this is the first of likely many changes for the Wolves organization.

MacKenzie has been with the Wolves organization since the 2010-2011 season, where he began as the team’s Assistant General Manager. Recently he was promoted to the Head Coach position, which he will now step down from. The Wolves will be looking to bring in a new Head Coach heading into the 2024-2025 season.

The Wolves will be saying goodby to overagers Andre Anania, Landon McCallum, and Zacharie Giroux. David Goyette is eligible to return for one more season, but time will tell if he does return or not.

There will be a lot of different players in Sudbury Wolves jerseys next season, and there are still plenty of decisions to be made over the course of the offseason.
