It’s been a very tough season for Anaheim Ducks forward Trevor Zegras and on Tuesday night, he got quite frustrated after a collision with a referee.

On Tuesday, the Anaheim Ducks were in Calgary to take on the Flames and during the game, Trevor Zegras was battling for a loose puck in the neutral zone with Connor Zary. As the puck went by, Zegras collided with a referee, while Zary went in on a 2-on-1, where Lukas Dostal made the stop.

As Trevor Zegras got up and went back to the bench, he got extremely frustrated and smashed his stick on the boards, nearly hitting the Ducks’ trainer with a broken piece of the stick.

“Zegras got laid out by the ref, and he wasn’t happy about it 😭😳”

Coming into Tuesday’s action, the 23-year-old has been limited to only 25 games this season due to multiple injuries, including an ankle issue that kept him out of action for nearly ten weeks. In those 25 games, Zegras has recorded nine points (four goals, five assists), 30 penalty minutes and is a minus-four.

Throughout the season, Zegras has been subject to trade rumours and some were wondering if he was going to be moved by the deadline back on March 8th, but ultimately, he remained with the Ducks. However, a move at the draft or in the summer can’t be ruled out as the Anaheim Ducks try to turn things around as quickly as possible.
