Selena Gomez Gains 10 Million IG Followers While Kylie Jenner Loses 500K After TikTok Drama

Kylie Jenner’s biggest mistake as a celebrity was involving herself in the Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber drama. It seems like she’s beginning to realize that karma is indeed real, if she hasn’t already. What’s even worse is that it’s not Kylie herself who will face the consequences of her actions, but rather her brand, Kylie Cosmetics. I’m throwing out all my Kylie Cosmetics lipstick, never again. People all over the world are starting to boycott Kylie Cosmetics, even Tick Tock users are canceling Kylie Jenner. If you go to the comments, people are vehemently against her, saying things like “she’s canceled” and that she’s not getting any likes anymore. The rumor about the Kardashians falling off might actually be true.

According to the Animated Times, one of the reasons for the decline in the brand’s popularity is its close association with the stars’ public image, which has also been declining lately. Yes, you guessed it right, the decline in the personal image is because Kylie wrongly sided with Hailey Bieber and engaged in bullying Selena Gomez a few months ago. The drama escalated when Kylie posted a picture that seemed to mock Selena’s infamous eyebrow video. The “Salinators” got enraged, leading to negative reviews flooding Kylie Cosmetics’ social media posts. Kylie had to switch off the comments, but Selena’s fans didn’t stop there. They continued with the cancel culture and posted videos of themselves throwing away their Kylie Cosmetics products, as a sign of support for Selena and to stand against bullying and body shaming.

Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner and Hailey Bieber drama explained - Los Angeles Times

Fans reacted to this downfall by saying that Kylie and her family brought it upon themselves. Selena didn’t even have to dig their grave; they dug it themselves. Another instance where Kylie’s sister Kendall Jenner mocked Selena added to the decline. It seems like the whole Kardashian family loves to stay in the headlines, even if it means downgrading Selena. However, their tactics backfired, and Kylie Cosmetics began to crumble. Reports suggest a significant decrease in people’s interest in her products, with a negative customer review score and numerous complaints. Kylie Jenner is currently being canceled, primarily because she sucks.

Another reason for the brand’s downfall could be its lack of evolution over the seven years of its existence. Despite introducing vegan formulas and clean ingredients, Kylie Cosmetics hasn’t kept up, especially with the emergence of Selena Gomez’s Rare Beauty. Fans started comparing the two brands, and it seemed like Kylie was losing the battle. The hype around Kylie Cosmetics has dwindled, and the brand is now experiencing its flop era.

Moreover, Kylie Cosmetics faced backlash due to a poor marketing strategy involving Kylie’s visit to a cosmetic factory in Milan, Italy. Kylie posted about her visit, showing herself in the lab without proper hygiene and safety protocols. Emmy-winning makeup artist Kevin James Bennett called her out for misrepresenting how the cosmetics industry works and for putting everyone’s safety at risk. Kylie tried to downplay the situation and even clapped back at Kevin, but her attempt to cover up the blunder only made things worse.

Overall, the declining popularity of Kylie Cosmetics isn’t just due to the quality of its products or marketing tactics; it’s also influenced by Kylie’s persona and reputation. Unless she rectifies these issues and takes a more neutral stance, things aren’t looking good for her brand

Kylie Jenner Lost 1 Million Instagram Followers & It Might Have Everything To Do With Selena Gomez

If you are on TikTok, then you are well-versed about the (perceived) ongoing feud between Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner. We say “perceived” because both women have publicly claimed they are not in a feud, but fans have been pulling up evidence as to how Jenner and pal Hailey Bieber have shaded “The Heart Wants What It Wants” singer over the years — and that may have resulted in a mass of Instagram unfollows for the reality star.

What’s crazy about this entire saga is that it’s over eyebrows. Gomez shared with her followers that she had over-laminated her brows — and Jenner then posted a photo of eyebrows that subtly (and reportedly) shaded the Only Murders in the Building star. At the time, both women were tied for being the most-followed accounts on Instagram, hovering around 380 million, but the feud changed all of that. The result was a massive unfollowing spree that led to the makeup mogul losing over a million followers and Gomez gaining approximately 13 million new friends, according to the Daily Mail.

If you talk to Gomez or Jenner, they will tell you that there’s nothing to see here. After the Instagram account, Comments by Celebs, posted a TikTok of someone explaining the feud, The Kardashians star jumped in the comments to correct the narrative. “this is reaching. no shade towards selena ever and I didn’t see her eyebrow posts! u guys are making something out of nothing. this is silly,” she wrote. Gomez saw her possible frenemy’s post and added, “Agreed @kyliejenner It’s all unnecessary. I’m a fan of Kylie!”
