Among many other events this year, we were eagerly waiting for Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom to tie the knot, but the wedding was postponed because of COVID-19. The duo, however, celebrated another milestone and shared the news of the birth of their baby girl, Daisy Dove Bloom. Despite the logistical nightmares served up by the virus, Perry managed to release her album, Smile, and even continued her role as a judge on American Idol, the singing competition TV series, from her makeshift home studio.

The pop star was also able to spend some quality time with her fiancé and her dog, Nugget, at their quaint home in LA. Surrounded by acres of foliage and greenery in the secluded upper Coldwater Canyon area of Beverly Hills, the couple’s home is an ideal place to unwind, especially during a pregnancy. The 1.16-acre estate boasts five bedrooms and bathrooms, a double-edged infinity pool, a quarter-mile drive that can park up to 20 cars, and charming patios. Take the full tour below.

The living room features a mix of neutrals and wooden accents. A cream sectional with fluffy cushions and a matching throw blanket sits beside large French glass doors, trimmed with wood, that open up to the patio. The wooden coffee table and the light grey rug underneath give the space a cosy vibe, also enhanced by a stone fireplace and the flat-screen TV on the wood-panelled console. Clearly, Perry and Bloom have managed to create the perfect snug environment for competitive board game nights.

The pop star’s expansive home features an elaborate drawing room as well. With dark walls, a plush taupe rug, and gold light fixtures that hang from the ceiling, the space follows a moody palette.

The grey velvet sofas, rust-coloured patterned curtains, and a golden bar cart add to the space. In the midst of a pandemic, the room also doubled as a home studio for Perry. The singer even replaced the decor on the open shelves next to the fireplace with photographs of the contestants on American Idol—the deep colour of the room providing the ideal backdrop for her whimsical costumes.

Perry’s monochrome kitchen features ivory cabinets complemented with beige marble countertops. A kitchen island with in-built shelves for pots and pans sits in the centre of the space. Overlooking stunning views of the California greens, the area gets lots of natural light, adding to the soothing effect of the whites and neutrals.

Following the aesthetic of the rest of the house, the bathroom (one of five) is also an all-white canvas with gold accents. The mosaic patterned floor provides a pop of colour to the space, and makes for an ideal backdrop for impromptu snapshots.

The open patio in Perry’s home features the double-edged infinity pool on a lower level as well as a sun deck with striped loungers. With a woven rug, a large wooden table (often used by the family for making puzzles), and other seating areas, the patio offers gorgeous views of the lush landscaping and the wilderness beyond.

The pop star recently also gave us a peek at her storage area, organised by The Home Edit team, featuring neat stacks and compartments for her toiletries and beauty products.
