LeBron James gave Darvin Ham a death stare during the Lakers’ 135-119 loss to the Rockets on Monday night.

LeBron James and Darvin Ham

The Los Angeles Lakers were blown out 135-119 on Monday night by the Houston Rockets, and in the fourth quarter of the contest, LeBron James was seen giving his head coach, Darvin Ham, a death stare.

You can check out the exact moment LeBron gives that death stare below.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, and this sure appears to. With the clip going viral on social media, NBA fans reacted to it.

One believes LeBron despises Ham.

A fan said hate doesn’t scratch the surface in regards to LeBron’s feelings about Ham.

One says this is the only time they would be fine with James getting a head coach fired.

A fan wants LeBron to tell the Lakers to choose between him and Ham.

LeBron is about to get Ham fired, a fan said.

I think it is safe to say it’s not all roses and sunshine between James and Ham. It does appear as if there is some friction between the two as this is not the first time we have seen a reaction along these lines from the 39-year-old. Earlier this season, James was visibly frustrated at the final play call designed by Ham at the end of the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

NBA insider Shams Charania had previously reported that there is discontent growing between Ham and the Lakers players. While LeBron, who had 23 points, 6 rebounds, 10 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block here against the Rockets, hasn’t openly stated that he has an issue with his head coach, his actions certainly do give off the impression that he isn’t all that fond of him.

Anthony Davis Left The Huddle When Ham Was Drawing Up A Play Last Week

One of the biggest keys to succeeding as a head coach in the NBA is to ensure that the superstars on the team back you. Ham seems to have now failed in that regard, not just with LeBron, but also with Anthony Davis. A clip of Davis leaving the huddle when Ham was designing a play during a timeout last week, has been doing the rounds on social media.

We don’t know the exact context here, but that isn’t a good look. You do wonder just how much respect Ham still commands in that locker room with how this season has panned out.

With this loss to the Rockets, the Lakers have dropped to 24-24 in this campaign. They had shown some signs of life by winning five of seven coming into this contest, only to undo some of that good work by getting blown out.

Darvin Ham Is Not In Danger Of Losing His Job

The Lakers players don’t appear to be behind Ham, and their fans have been calling for his head for a while now. Still, it doesn’t look like he’ll be going anywhere anytime soon. Lakers insider Jovan Buha stated that Ham is not in danger of being fired before the end of the season.

Buha added that the situation could obviously change if the season completely starts going south, but he is not on the brink of losing his job as of now. A big factor in his favor here is that Ham has the support of Lakers governor Jeanie Buss. She is the one who makes the final call at the end of the day, and as long as she keeps supporting him, Ham will remain the head coach.
