The No.1 overall pick in the draft was described as a generational talent while being compared to LeBron James, and so far, he’s lived up to his billing.

The 7ft French phenom is putting up numbers rarely seen by a 20-year-old cutting his teeth in the most competitive basketball league in the world.

‘Wemby’ is already an elite rim protector and the stats prove it.

In the month of February he has 38 blocks – more than SIX NBA teams.

The Spurs superstar has more blocks in February than the Heat (23), Blazers (26), Clippers (34), Kings (35), Knicks (35), and Bulls (36).

Wemby has been described as an alien and he continues to do out of this world things.

Every night he seemingly breaks a new record or does something not seen in decades.

Recently, Wembanyama had a triple-double with blocks, finishing with 27 points, 14 rebounds and 10 blocks against the Toronto Raptors.

He became the first player since Hakeem Olajuwon in 1996 to record at least 20 points, 10 rebounds, 10 blocks and five assists in a game.

In a recent loss to the Lakers, he had 27 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals and 5 blocks. He became just the 15th player in NBA history (and the youngest ever) to tally a 5×5 stat line.

He also also joined Michael Jordan as the only NBA players to ever post consecutive games with at least five blocks and steals.

In a loss to the Kings, Wemby bagged his 500th rebound in what was his 50th career game.

He became the third-fastest player to tally 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 150 blocks behind Shaquille O’Neal (43 games) and Spurs Hall of Famer David Robinson (47 games).

There’s virtually no ceiling on his potential, leading some execs to believe he could become the greatest defensive player of all time.

“I had somebody with another front office tell me they think he’s going to be the best defensive player of all time, and very confidently declare that and that’s in addition to the fact that this guy’s got unlimited potential offensively,” ESPN’s Tim McMahon said recently.

In his most recent outing, the colossal center finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and five blocks in a 128-109 loss to the Utah Jazz.

For the season he is averaging 20.7 points, 10.1 rebounds, and a league-leading 3.3 blocks per game.

Wemby is the frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award and his talents seemingly know no bounds.

But for both him and the Spurs, it’s about translating his elite production into wins.

San Antonio have the third worst record in the NBA and are rock bottom of the Western Conference with a 11-47 record.

However, the future is incredible bright for both player and franchise as they continue to build around him.
