Fans were on the edge of their seat waiting for Arizona to appear

GREY’S Anatomy fans have come to an unfortunate realization about a beloved character during the season premiere.

During Thursday’s Season 20 premiere of Grey’s Anatomy, fans were supposed to be reintroduced to Arizona Robbins.

Arizona, played by actress Jessica Capshaw, 47, was a fan-favorite character from seasons five to 14.

She was a pediatric and fetal surgeon who ended up leaving Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to be with her daughter.

Arizona had her daughter Sofia with her ex-wife Callie before Callie moved to New York.

She ended up following Callie to New York, and it was implied that the two got back together after her departure.

Despite being highly promoted in the teasers for Season 20, Arizona did not appear during the season premiere.

Some fans on social media believed she would show up in support of Teddy Altman – who almost lost her leg in the episode – but Teddy ended up pulling through.

Arizona had her leg amputated earlier in the show, so fans tried to find the parallel between her and the plot lines in this episode.

More fans speculated that Teddy would die and Arizona would come back for the funeral – but that also didn’t occur.

Teddy is the Chief of Surgery at the hospital, but at the end of last season, she passed out in the middle of surgery.

She needed emergency surgery herself after an infection found its way to her heart.

Then, during the premier, there was a blood clot in her leg causing fans to believe it would need to be amputated.

WHERE IS SHE

Grey’s fans on X, formerly known as Twitter, were furious after they realized Arizona wouldn’t appear during the episode.

One said: “Since we talking about legs…I was promised Arizona.”

“Is Arizona back in today’s episode of #GreysAnatomy or do I not have to watch today,” wrote another.

A third added: “Where is Arizona? Were 42 mins in WHERE IS SHE?”

“Teddy kept the leg but WHERE is Arizona,” asked a fan.

A fifth wrote: “I thought Arizona was going to walk in,” with crying emojis.

GREY SLONE TO CHANGE

Grey’s Anatomy has undergone a big change for Season 20.

The new showrunner announced plans for a reset and a back-to-basics season.

Showrunner Meg Marinis spoke with TVLine about the upcoming season of the hit television show.

“We left off with a crazy mess of a bang at the end of last season,” she told the outlet.

Just some of the crazy things that happened were that Teddy was left unconscious on the operating room floor, interns broke protocol to keep Sam alive, and Blue ignored Max’s DNR to try and save Jules’ roommate.

The premiere on March 14 will be “kind of a reset,” Meg said.

“It’s back to basics.”

The question Meg asked herself was, “How do we recover and come through what happened at the end of last year?”

The showrunner ended by saying things are never calm at Grey Stone.
