Whoopi Goldberg slammed her co-hosts on The View and told them that it ‘really irritates’ her that they’re buying into the various conspiracy theories surrounding the Princess of Wales, as she defended the future Queen of England during a very fiery debate.

A Hot Topic segment about Kate became very heated during Wednesday’s episode of the ABC show when Sunny Hostin claimed a photograph of the future Queen, 42, and her husband Prince William sitting in a car had also been Photoshopped, while Joy Behar brutally declared: ‘I don’t trust the royal family!’

However their wild claims about the royals were not tolerated by Whoopi, 68, who appeared to grow increasingly irritated with her co-hosts’ speculation, blasting them for asking her ‘stupid questions’ as they argued over the editing of a Mother’s Day photograph of Kate and her three children, which was recalled by picture agencies over ‘manipulation’ fears.

When mother-of-three Sara Haines yelled: ‘I’m worried about Kate,’ Whoopi warned her that she was going to ‘get hammered’ for her comments and fumed to the ladies: ‘It’s not cute or funny.’

When Joy, 81, told Whoopi that she was ‘getting too angry’, the Sister Act star fired back: ‘Yes! Because people do this to you… you haven’t had this done to you!’ as Sunny, 55, butted in and joked: ‘It’s Sara’s fault!’

But Whoopi was having none of it and shouted: ‘No, no, it’s our fault because we bought into this. When you buy into this stuff, when they start doing it to your family or they start doing it to your kids, it’s not cute, it’s not funny and it really irritates me.’

Her frustration comes just two days after she defended Kate’s editing skills on Monday’s show and admitted to knowing ‘very few people who don’t manipulate their own photos’.

In response to Kate’s statement, in which she admitted to ‘editing’ the photograph of her and her children, Whoopi said: ‘You know what, I have to tell you. She may be the future queen, [but] she’s still an amateur photographer. That’s what they do!’

Wednesday’s discussion began when Whoopi announced: ‘The conspiracy theories over Princess Kate and the royal family photo keep getting piled higher and higher, what the hell is going on here?’ as Sunny claimed that Sara, 46, was ‘responsible’ for her going ‘down a rabbit hole’.

Confirming that she’s now got her husband Emmanuel involved, Sunny continued: ‘Sara keeps on sending text messages to me about pictures and where it’s doctored, and yesterday they released another picture of Kate in a car and you can’t see Kate, and now I have Manny looking at the picture and Manny said that the brick doesn’t match through the glass.’

The mother-of-two then jumped out of her seat to walk over to the screen to point out the details of the royal photo as Whoopi rubbished her theory and said: ‘All this does is show that you don’t know what goes on in buildings!’

‘No, no, that’s a Photoshop!’ Sunny fired back as Whoopi asked her: ‘Can you bank that?’ to which the lawyer replied: ‘I bank on my husband’s surgeon eyes!’ as Alyssa claimed the palace could ‘resolve this in two minutes by putting her direct to camera’.

The drama began when picture agencies recalled this Mother’s Day photo of the Princess of Wales with her three children; Prince Louis, 5, Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 8

Whoopi couldn’t hide her annoyance as she tried to take the show to a commercial break, but as the music started to play, the squabble continued and the theme tune quickly paused.

‘I’m worried about her, I don’t know what’s wrong,’ Sara, 46, said as Joy added: ‘I don’t trust the royal family to be truthful,’ as Sara continued: ‘I’m worried about Kate. People think it’s because we’re hating on them, but I’m actually worried about Kate.

‘I think that the frenzy in the media has been dangerous for their family and they should come out with a video to say, “hey I’m okay”, that’s all I need,’ she suggested as Whoopi fired back: ‘This is the part I don’t get, why do you think it’s important to them what you need?’

‘They don’t, but then quit Photoshopping and giving me anything!’ Sara yelled back as Alyssa pointed out that the Mother’s Day photograph was ‘put out officially by the palace’.

‘When I worked in the White House, the White House photo office ethically could not alter photos so if Trump had ketchup on him, they couldn’t edit that out. The palace has an ethical guideline that journalists expect them to uphold,’ the 34-year-old explained.

But Whoopi was eager to have her say yet again and defended the photograph while telling her co-hosts to stop asking her ‘stupid questions’.

‘I believe that she took the picture and gave it to them because she wanted to take charge of the story that’s being put out… not thinking like most people who Photoshop their pictures,’ as Joy asked: ‘Why then didn’t she just put the family together and get a photographer to take the picture?’

Sara had her head in her hands as she blurted out: ‘Because she’s not there!’ before asking for the show to go to a commercial – but Whoopi refused.
