Adam and Jackie Sandler have one of Hollywood’s best — and simplest — love stories.

Adam Sandler might be the more famous half of the couple, but his wife Jackie Sandler has a lot going for herself, too. The actress may have grown into her own spotlight at the same time as her husband, but the two have plenty of fun and support one another’s careers. Over the years, Jackie has continued acting, often alongside her husband, but she doesn’t live in his shadow.

Here’s everything we know about Adam and Jackie Sandler’s relationship timeline, from their 1999 meeting to their 2003 wedding and the arrival of their two kids — plus how the family works together today and what Jackie has to say about being married to the comedian.

Adam Sandler started his acting career back in the ’80s; his first project was The Cosby Show (he appeared on four episodes). Jackie Sandler (nee Titone) started her career in Hollywood in 1999, when she got her first gig on a film Adam happened to be leading.

The pair met while working on Big Daddy (Jackie played a waitress) and were apparently inseparable soon after. Jackie may have only taken Adam’s order during the movie, but they fell hard and fast, to hear the couple tell it. Despite an eight-year age difference, the two never seemed to mind the gap.

Jackie converted to her future husband’s religion in 2000

Jackie even converted to Judaism for her future husband after a year of dating, and two years after that, a reportedly impressed Adam proposed.

Adam confessed he was so nervous to propose to his now-wife, though he clearly had nothing to worry about. During an interview, the then-35-year-old admitted that he played basketball to try and calm himself down the day of, and even rehearsed his proposal while driving to Jackie’s house.

Jackie’s family was thrilled, applauding over the phone, after she said yes.

While many celebrity couples date around or split up and get back together, Jackie and Adam Sandler took a different path. After four years of dating, the two tied the knot in 2003.

The Sandlers got married in Malibu, California in June 2003

Jackie and Adam got married at Dick Clark’s mansion in Malibu, and in attendance were around 400 friends and family, as well as the couple’s dog Meatball, who wore a yarmulke, a tux, and carried Jackie’s wedding ring.

The star-studded guest list included famous faces like Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Osbourne, Rob Schneider, and — of course — Jennifer Aniston.

Over the years, Jackie and Adam have not had to weather any breakup rumors, unlike other Hollywood couples, and have become a fan favorite. Jackie continued her career after meeting Adam, and later appeared in many of his films.

But the couple hasn’t forgotten where they came from; in one interview, Adam discussed how he and Jackie celebrate anniversaries, but not just their wedding anniversary. Rather, the Sandlers like to celebrate their first kiss and the anniversary of buying their first home.

Jackie and Adam Sandler waited a few years to bring kids into their marriage, and seemed to decide that being a family of four was perfect for them.

The Sandlers had their first child in 2006

A few years after they got married, Adam and Jackie welcomed their first child, Sadie, in 2006. They announced the birth with a brief note, confirming that the child was healthy but not giving her name or saying she was a girl.

Later, Adam divulged how he tried to help Jackie, but that his wife did most of the work with baby number one.

Second daughter Sunny was born in 2008

Adam and Jackie’s second daughter, Sunny, was born in 2008, and Adam recounted some sleepless nights, but kept good humor about it.

After that, the couple seemed content to stop at two kids. They appear to be a close-knit family and even work together.

Jackie and Adam Sandler’s relationship has had no speed bumps in almost 20 years

While Jackie appears in many of Adam’s films, she also supports his career from the sidelines. Adam credits Jackie with encouraging him to take the serious role in Uncut Gems, despite him being a “nervous wreck” upon reading the script.

“We do this together — we discuss what I’m going to do. She gives me strength and courage to jump into this stuff. She read it and was like, ‘You have to do it.'”

Jackie is also said to be very strict about Adam’s health, even enlisting Jennifer Aniston’s help to keep her sometimes on-screen husband in shape.

In a 2023 speech, Jackie trolled her husband while confirming how great he is

While Adam may get the credit for all the on-screen hilarity, Jackie proved she was just as funny when she honored her husband during an awards ceremony in 2023.

During her speech, Jackie joked about how good in bed her husband was and trolled him for peeing in the backyard, but concluded with something a little more heartfelt: “Family comes first, that’s definitely our way.”

In 2024, the Sandlers worked together on a family-friendly film

Both of Adam’s daughters offered their voices to Sandler’s 2024 Netflix release Leo, and Jackie had a role, too. Odds are, the Sandler family will continue working on projects together, but as yet, it’s unclear what might be up next.
