Kris Jenner‘s late sister Karen Houghton was on Team KimYe, and just before niece Kim Kardashian married Kanye West declared it a union that would, ‘last forever.’

In resurfaced video obtained by DailyMail.com, Houghton spoke on the eve of the wedding which took place in Florence, May 24, 2014.

Outside her home in San Marcos, San Diego, Houghton explained that while she would not be attending the lavish event she was confident that, unlike her niece’s previous two marriages, ‘It’s going to last forever.’

Sixty-eight-year-old Jenner’s younger sister Houghton was just 65 when she died unexpectedly on Monday. The circumstances remain unclear, but the family has attributed her passing to ‘natural causes.’

Jenner had a famously complicated relationship with Houghton who, 8 years ago, allowed cameras into document a grueling five-hour cosmetic procedure she underwent to look more like her famous sister.

Karen declared, ‘Happy Kim and Kanye. I love you guys. You guys are the best…and Nori is adorable, and I think it’s going to be a great, great wedding. Fabulous!’

Now, just days after her death, this video shows Houghton expressing her love for all her family and her mistaken belief that her niece’s ultimately doomed marriage to rap star, record producer and designer Kanye was the one that would finally stick.

At the time the couple already had one child together – daughter North, now 10. They would go onto have three more, Saint, 8, Chicago, 6 and Psalm, 4 before divorcing in 2022.

Houghton, the self-declared ‘crazy relative’ in the family, spoke enthusiastically of Kim and Kanye’s relationship revealing she had got them what she mistakenly described as a ‘mammogram statue’ of a ‘beautiful couple.’

She was referring to an engraved statue that she gifted the couple as a wedding present.

She declared, ‘Happy Kim and Kanye. I love you guys. You guys are the best…and Nori is adorable, and I think it’s going to be a great, great wedding. Fabulous!’

She went on, ‘I hope you’re happy forever. I think it’s going to last forever. I just think so ‘cos they love each other. He’s more Kim’s type [than her previous husbands Kris Humphries and Damon Thomas].’

Kris Jenner shared snaps with her beloved sister and wrote: ‘It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly’

In another statement that didn’t age well she said, ‘I love Kanye. He’s great. He’s classy, great, smart and I think he’s going to go even farther than he already has.’

In that assessment, if nothing else, she was right.

While Kim and Kanye’s marriage foundered after just eight years, he did go onto build his Yeezy clothing empire.

But recently the only direction in which he has ‘gone farther’ appears to be in shocking the public along with his new wife, Bianca Censori, 29.

Back in September police in Venice investigated the couple when Kanye, 46, exposed his bare buttocks in a water taxi while Censori kneeled before him in prompting allegations that she was performing a lewd act.

For months now the rapper has been parading his young wife to a variety of grim locations – Starbucks, a Cheesecake Factory – in a host of X-rated outfits.

There has been speculation that the increasingly outrageous get-ups in which she has been seen – often bra-less and pants-less – are part of a ploy dreamt up by the rapper to promote his own line of shapewear and dethrone 43-year-old Kim’s hugely successful SKIMS.

Whatever the reason, the behavior has sparked concern and outrage from architect Censori’s family.

Just this week her father, Leo, reportedly demanded that the couple fly to Australia to address her parents’ worries after her mother voiced fears about Kanye’s ‘intimidating’ demeanor during a recent visit to LA earlier this month.

For her part, yesterday Kim shared a touching tribute to her late aunt, posting a series of intimate photographs of them together through her youth and childhood on Instagram with the simple message, ‘I love you so much auntie Karen.’
