Ciara and Chris Brown danced up a storm in a brand new music video for their new song How We Roll, released Thursday.
When Ciara announced the single this Wednesday, she was lambasted online by fans who objected to her working with Chris because of his violent past.
In 2009, four years after he became a star, Chris infamously beat up his then-girlfriend Rihanna to the point that she had to be hospitalized.
Ciara’s Instagram comments this Wednesday were abuzz with denunciations from scandalized fans decrying Chris as ‘toxic.’
The new music video for How We Roll then dropped Thursday night – including one eye-catching moment when Ciara sings: ‘Know I like it when you do it like that,’ and then mimes throwing a few punches.

The video begins with Ciara, wrapped in a varsity jacket, receiving a call from Chris on her car’s Bluetooth feature while she drives.
Chris tells her about party he is giving and urges her to ‘come through,’ but she replies: ‘That’s crazy, I was about to call you and tell you to roll through my party.’
‘Well, you better cancel that party,’ Chris says with a smirk as a buddy of his gives him an encouraging pat on the arm. ‘Mine finna be lit.’
‘Yeah, I know how you do,’ says Ciara with a smile of her own, challenging him to see whose party becomes a subject of discussion the following day.
Ciara is then pictured at her party, clad in a black leather jumpsuit that emphasizes her lithe dancer’s body and plunges to flash a bit of cleavage.
Flanked by a phalanx of backup performers, Ciara launches into an intricate dance sequence in an elegantly-appointed living room.
As the camera moves back, the party house is revealed to actually be the interior of a truck that is completely open on one side.
The truck speeds down the highway at night as Ciara and her fellow revelers whirl through the rooms, performing their intricate choreography.

Yikes! Ciara received a mix reaction from fans as she revealed Wednesday that she will be releasing a song with ‘woman beater’ Chris
He was charged with felony assault and making criminal threats but he avoided jail time by accepting a plea deal.
Chris was sentenced to five years probation, ordered to complete 180 days of community service in his home state of Virginia and had to take a domestic violence course.
A restraining order was also put in place that required him to remain at least 50 yards away from his ex-girlfriend.
He violated the restraining order in 2012 by attending the same Halloween party as Rihanna.
She shocked the public when she briefly got back together with Chris, a decision she explained years later by telling Vanity Fair: ‘I was that girl.’
She described herself as a ‘girl who felt that as much pain as this relationship is, maybe some people are built stronger than others. Maybe I’m one of those people built to handle s*** like this.’
In 2011, Chris began an on/off romance with model Karrueche Tran.
She filed a domestic violence restraining order against him in 2017 after accusing the Virginia native of threatening her as well as physically abusing her.

He was temporarily banned by the order from going within 100 yards of her.
In 2018, Chris and two other males were sued for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at his home. He vehemently denied the allegations.
The lawsuit was later dismissed and settled out of court, according to court docs obtained by The Blast.
In 2021, a woman called the police and accused a man of striking her at Chris’ home. TMZ reported that Chris was the suspect.
In 2022, he was hit with a $20million lawsuit after an unidentified woman accused him of raping and drugging her while on a yacht in Miami, Florida in 2020.
A judge later dismissed the case ‘without prejudice’ because neither party showed up to the hearing, according to NBC.
‘I just lost so much respect for Ciara,’ wrote one fan shortly after Ciara teased the collaboration.
Another excerpt of the Instagram user’s comment read: ‘One she’s a dark skin black woman, two he’s a womanizing, woman beater, and colorist. This isn’t something a woman of ‘god’ would do.’
‘We’re still collaborating with men who hit women???’ wrote another shocked commenter
One fan appeared to lose respect for Ciara as they commented: ‘Damn this is so sad. I loved Ciara so much.’
Another begged Ciara and other artists to ‘stop giving Chris Brown a platform.’

Earlier this year, Chris teased that he and Ciara had ‘some fire coming’ but didn’t provide fans with any details about the project.
The pair came up in the music industry around the same time. Ciara released her first-ever single Goodies in 2004 while Chris released Run It! the following year.
