Kanye West is facing backlash for his controversial new album ‘Vultures,’ with a particular lyric about Taylor Swift causing uproar. The album, a collaboration with Ty Dolla $ign, was initially set for release at the end of 2023 but was finally dropped on TIDAL on February 9th.

The track ‘Carnival‘ from the album has stirred up controversy due to its explicit and objectifying lyrics about Taylor Swift. In one part, West raps: “Why she say she sucked my d**k? ( Ha ) Then she say she ain’t sucked my d**k ( Ha ) She gon’ take it up the a** ( Ha ), like a ventriloquist ( Ha )” and continues with “I made six Taylor Swift ( Ha ), Since I had the Rollie on the wrist ( Ha ), I’m the new Jesus, bitch ( Ha ), I turn water to crist ( Ha ).” These lyrics have sparked criticism, with some interpreting them as sexually harassing and objectifying towards Swift.

Fans of Taylor Swift have expressed their outrage, with one fan stating: “Ofc the objectifying and then his obsession with her never stops. He wants relevancy again.” Another fan commented: “This is sexual harassment, I hope she sues,” while a third fan added, “Swifties gone get him for this, as they should. He’s such a loser.”

 

 

The song also makes references to R Kelly, Bill Cosby, and P Diddy, all of whom have faced accusations or convictions related to sexual assault. This only adds fuel to the fire of controversy surrounding the album.

The animosity between Kanye West and Taylor Swift dates back to the infamous 2009 MTV Video Music Awards incident when West interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech. The feud continued with West’s 2016 album ‘The Life of Pablo,’ which included pointed lyrics directed at Swift in the song ‘Famous.’
