Lizzo walks away empty-handed (except for her tiny purse)

Taylor Swift now holds the record for most American Music Awards, beating the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson.

Swift won six AMAs at the annual awards show in Los Angeles on Sunday night, including artist of the decade, bringing her career total up to 29.

That beats Jackson’s record by five, knocking the hugely influential American pop star off the throne.

Swifties were quick to pick up on their Queen’s new credentials.

Swift also managed to perform a mashup of her greatest hits during the live show, which was broadcast on ABC, despite accusations that two music industry veterans were blocking her from doing that.

She didn’t mention the men who own her master recordings, Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun, during her acceptance speeches.

She did give her new label a shout-out, though.

“Thank you for being so generous to me and allowing me to make whatever music I want to make,” Swift said.

BTS and Khalid were also big winners, with three awards each, although none of them bothered to show up in person to collect their awards.

Billie Eilish went home with two awards and got to perform All the Good Girls Go to Hell while flames burned on stage.

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello won an award for Señorita and managed to keep their performance PG — finishing their song by rubbing noses.

Lizzo walked away empty handed, despite being nominated for three awards.

She made an impression by screaming at the top of her lungs during her performance, though.

And showing up on the red carpet with a teeny tiny purse in tow.
