Tenille Smith, at 39 weeks and five days pregnant, attended Taylor Swift’s concert at the Melbourne Cricket Ground as part of the Eras Tour. Despite feeling what she initially assumed were Braxton Hicks contractions earlier that day, the discomfort escalated during the concert.

Initially determined to wait until midnight to leave, Smith eventually realized midway through the concert that she was in labor. Nevertheless, driven by her long-awaited opportunity to see Swift live, she decided to persevere until the concert’s conclusion.

After the show ended, amidst the rush of departing fans, Smith and her friends hastened to leave the stadium and embark on a one-hour car journey to Mercy Hospital in Werribee. Despite arriving in considerable pain at 1 am, she was only 2 cm dilated when examined.

Shortly after, unexpectedly, Smith gave birth to her baby girl, Sloane Tayla Smith, at 1:20 am on Sunday, just two hours after the concert concluded. Sloane’s arrival was celebrated as the perfect addition to their family.

Smith’s experience mirrors that of other mothers who have unexpectedly gone into labor during concerts, such as when US star P!nk paused her Sydney show earlier in the month to assist a fan experiencing contractions.
