Despite signing an iron-clad prenup before their 2022 nuptials, Britney and Sam are struggling to finalize their divorce.

Sam Asghari filed for divorce from Britney Spears last August after 14 months of marriage, shocking not only fans but also the pop star herself. Despite signing a prenuptial agreement before their 2022 wedding, the pair still haven’t settle their divorce.

Though Sam has denied accusations he wants to get more money from Britney than the prenup stipulates, a new report claims the fitness trainer may end up getting $500,000 per year from the divorce.

Sam Is Reportedly Willing To Fight For More Money

Speaking to OK! Magazinea source claims that Sam would’ve been entitled to $1 million for every two years of marriage. Though Sam and Britney never made it to their second anniversary, he may still get a minimum $500,000 but is hopeful for more.

“She feels Sam is playing the ‘Mr. Britney Spears’ card for everything it’s worth,” the insider claimed. “She finds it kind of pathetic.”

“The exact amount he wants is being kept confidential, but he’s not happy with what Britney and her team have proposed,” they went on. “Sam isn’t hurting for cash, but he’s willing to dig in and fight for the extra money he feels he deserves.”

While the divorce proceedings remain underway, Britney is allegedly footing the bill for a $10,000 per month apartment that Sam is staying in since leaving their marital home last year.

The former couple have been careful about what they say about their ongoing divorce to the media, despite Britney’s reputation for posting scandalous content online, including a recent video of her illegally filming while driving. In another instance from last year, the singer received a visit from police following a clip she posted of herself dancing with knives.

Sam Says He’ll Never Talk Badly About Britney

Sam opened up about his relationship with Britney earlier this month to PEOPLEbut only had good things to say about his ex. He also assured the public he never has plans to bad mouth Britney, even though reports say she wants to pen a second memoir focusing on her relationship with Asghari.

“It was a blessing to be able to share life with someone for a long time. And people grow apart and people move on,” the Iranian native told the publication.

“I’ve always hated people leaving a certain relationship — and at some point they told each other they love each other and they sat at the same table and ate food [together] — so I never understood when people part ways [and] they talk badly about each other,” he continued. “That’s something I’m never going to do because I had nothing but an amazing experience and a great life, and that’s always going to be part of my life, a chapter of my life.”

Sam, who’s previously said he’s focusing on his acting career as well as personal growth following his split from Spears, told PEOPLE he’s looking forward to his 30th birthday and what’s to come in this new decade.

“I used to think people that were 30 years old were so old when I was in high school,” he said. “But every person I talk to, the older they get, the more they get to enjoy life because with age comes wisdom and experiences. And I think experiences in life are beautiful, so that’s something that I’m just super excited to just be fulfilled with.”

Britney hasn’t commented on Sam’s statement about their marriage or the continuing divorce. But she’s clearly focused on moving on, given reports that she’s still dating one of her ex-employees despite his criminal history.
