The Los Angeles Lakers have decided to cut Scottie Pippen Jr. this week, and it’s been suggested that it’s because of his mother.

Scottie Jr. is the son of six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen and his ex-wife Larsa Pippen.

Larsa is often in the news because of her relationship with Marus Jordan, the son of the legendary Michael Jordan, who was, of course, teammates with Scottie on the Chicago Bulls. The relationship has caused friction between the two icons and they’re no longer believed to be on speaking terms.

It’s now being rumored that the unconventional hookup is the reason behind the Lakers cutting Pippen’s son. Rapper Cam’ron said as much on the ‘Come And Talk 2 Me’’ show week, suggesting that the Lakers don’t want that kind of publicity, and neither does MJ.

“It’s his mother,” he said. “Ain’t nothing to do with Scottie. They don’t need that to mess up the game. He got no time. He got waived by which team? They got no time. Jeanie Buss and them don’t got time for that nonsense.

“It only takes one call. Michael Jordan calls Magic Johnson, Magic Johnson calls Jeanie Buss, shut it down. Two calls… that’s all it takes.”

“Listen, you’re costing your son a job with this public S,” he added. “Keep the S under wraps.

“You know who’s P off now? Scottie’s P off. ‘Cause now you’re affecting my son.”

Sure, that’s a wild theory. But there’s also the fact that Scottie Jr. did well for the South Bay Lakers in the G League, averaging 21.4 points, 5.6 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 points per game playing 27.9 minutes a game. He only averaged 5.3 minutes in the NBA, playing only six games.

HOT NEWS:

Larsa Pippen spent months denying that she was in a relationship with Michael Jordan before she finally admitted to it. She caught major hell for it due to their age difference and the fact she would date him knowing that her ex-husband used to be friends with Michael Jordan and has an ongoing feud with him.

Social media isn’t the only one that doesn’t approve of their relationship.

Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen, who went public with their relationship in January, might not have his father, Michael Jordan’s blessing after one paparazzi member asked what he thinks about them. Jordan let out a loud laugh while getting into an SUV with his wife of 10 years, Yvette Prieto.

Then, when asked if he approves of his son’s relationship with the “Real Housewives of Miami” star, Jordan said, “No!”

Taking to Instagram, Larsa seemed to respond to all the backlash by posting a picture of herself and Marcus kissing.

“Je t’aime,” Pippen wrote. Translated from French it means, “I like you.”

Larsa stated last month that their families’ approval of their relationship gave them the green light to go public with their romance.

“We spent some time together during the holidays. She came and visited some of my family, I visited some of her family, so I think once we realized our families were OK with it, then I feel like that was easier for us,” Marcus told ET.

He added, “My family loves her. They think she’s great, and ultimately, I think my family just wants to see me happy. And so as long as I’m happy, they’re happy with whoever I’m dating.”

When it comes to whether or not he had the official OK from his famous dad, Jordan said, “Yeah. Oh yeah.”

Clearly, there was some miscommunication after what his dad just recently stated publicly.

Larsa was married to Michael’s former Bulls teammate and friend, Scottie Pippen, for over 20 years, with the pair finalizing their divorce in 2021. The parents of four first separated in 2016 after 19 years of marriage.

As for Larsa and Marcus, the pair appear to be getting closer to each other despite how anyone feels about it.
