PAUL Pierce has insisted Keyshawn Johnson would have run from the scene if faced by an angry Draymond Green in the NBA.

Golden State Warriors star Green found himself the centre of attention again this week when he squared up to Memphis Grizzlies rival Santi Aldama.

In a conversation with Paul Pierce and Keyshawn Johnson on Fox show Undisputed, Skip Bayless suggested that neither of them would have been intimidated in that situation.

Pierce, who played in the NBA for nearly two decades, said that Johnson, former wide receiver in the NFL, “would have run to the sidelines”.

The trio were reflecting on the dramatic events in the game between the Warriors and the Grizzies.

It started when Green was defending Aldama under the basket. After Aldama scored, the pair were involved in a heated confrontation, with a furious Green grabbing his rival’s jersey.

Aldama sprinted after Green, in an attempt for retribution. Events had quickly turned nasty in San Francisco.

The bad feelings in the game continued. During a later scrum, caused by Green and Desmond Bane getting involved in a pushing match, Grizzlies coach Taylor Jenkins was sent sprawling to the floor.

Green has very much become a repeat offender in the NBA.

He was suspended twice recently, for five games in November after putting Rudy Gobert in a chokehold, and then for 16 games in December and January after hitting Jusuf Nurkic in the face.

Plenty of fans weren’t amused by Green’s antics. One wrote on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, “Man can the league do something about Draymond, when is enough enough.”

Another fan commented, “His act done wire thin. Smh.”

And one simply wrote, “Draymond is just a troublemaker.”

The Warriors came out on top in Wednesday’s game, claiming a 137-116 victory.

Warriors star Stephen Curry reached 300 3-pointers for an NBA-record fifth season.

The home team moved to 36-32 for the season, with the Grizzlies falling to 23-47.
