Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry teased a potential Presidential bid once his NBA career concludes.
Curry is a beloved figure in sports and beyond. He is a surefire future first-ballot Hall of Famer after establishing himself as the greatest shooter in NBA history, as well as an international icon adored by millions around the world.
While Curry is still hoping to guide the Warriors to the playoffs and potentially a fifth NBA championship, he is certainly in the twilight of his illustrious career. It appears the 10-time All-Star is already looking ahead to life after he leaves the court for the final time.
Ultimately, Curry wants to do good and positively influence American society. In an interview with CBS Mornings, the 35-year-old expressed a level of interest towards potentially running for President in the future.
“Maybe, I have an interest in leveraging every part of my influence for good in the way that I can,” Curry said. “So, if that’s the way to do it, then – I’m not going to say the presidency but if politics is a way that you can create meaningful change or if there’s another way outside of politics.”

Curry has also been vocal on a number of issues concerning racial injustice and violence against Black people in the United States over the last few years. During the height of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, Curry attended a number of protests and walks.
His interest in politics is therefore unsurprising. The four-time NBA champion has even worked with former President Barack Obama on numerous occasions; back in 2020, he interviewed Obama following the release of his memoir, A Promised Land.
Curry also endorsed President Joe Biden during his successful electoral campaign in a video for the Democratic National Convention, while he urged voters to call on Senators to pass the Freedom to Vote Act. But Curry’s desire to initiate change can be achieved through other means; he is a philanthropist and children’s author.
His first book entitled ‘I Have a Superpower’ was written to teach children that dreams can be achieved through hard work. He added: “It’ll hopefully inspire kids to love who they are.”
