Lionel Messi is still staking claim to his turf in South Florida! In addition to his three multimillion-dollar residences in Sunny Isles Beach, a Miami suburb, the professional football player recently purchased a contemporary waterfront estate in the gated and upscale Bay Colony neighborhood of Fort Lauderdale.
The most recent expenditure coincides with Messi’s agreement to a new two-and-a-half-year, $150 million contract with David Beckham’s MLS team, Inter Miami CF.
In addition to leading his native Argentina to an exciting 4-2 victory against France in the 2022 World Cup last December, the 36-year-old forward is coming off a stellar 17-year run with FC Barcelona and a two-year stint with Paris Saint-Germaine FC.
The forward is a seven-time winner of the Ballon d’Or, an award given annually to the world’s best player.
The Real Deal was the first to report that the soccer star and his spouse, Antonella Roccuzzo, paid $10.75 million for an off-market acquisition of an extravagant two-story property minutes from Inter Miami’s Drive Pink Stadium and the team’s neighboring Fort Lauderdale training facility.
Jennifer Abbott of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty represented the sellers in the deal, while Samuel and Donna Simpkin of Team Simpkin at Compass represented Messi.
Built in 1988, the property was most recently sold to John and Stacy Dickerson in May 2022 for $9 million. Its living space is more than 10,500 square feet, and it has eight bedrooms and ten bathrooms.
The two-story structure has glass walls that open to a sparkling pool with a Jacuzzi, waterfall, and Baja shelf. A “carefully curated modern waterfront estate” was how it was formerly described. Two docks are also situated along 170 feet of Intracoastal Waterway beachfront property.

Tucked away in a cul-de-sac on a nearly half-acre lot lined with palm trees, the stucco and wood-trimmed building welcomes you with a roomy motorcourt and an attached three-car garage on either side.
Double entrance doors greet you as you enter the sleek, Lori Morris-designed interiors, which are dotted with flashes of jewel tones and metal to offer warmth along with a traditional black and white color scheme and porcelain tile floors.
Highlights include a dramatic entryway with a gold and Murano glass light bulb atop it, leading to a subterranean living space with black velvet channel wall panels.
There’s an Italian kitchen next to it with a six-seat eat-in island, high-end appliances, and a window-lined breakfast nook.
There’s also a 1,600-square-foot master retreat with “gold dripping wallpaper,” a sitting area, a private balcony, and a spa-inspired bathroom complete with dual vanities, a makeup area, and a walk-in steam shower.
Other features include a fitness/spa room, an executive office, and a cozy family room with a custom built-in day bed and sofa with matching wall panels covered in charcoal velvet.
Regarding Messi’s other Sunny Isles Beach real estate, documents reveal he owns a full-floor condo at the Regalia building for $7.4 million as well as at least two units in the 60-story Porsche Design Tower, which are valued at a combined $10.3 million.
It has also been rumored that he bought a unit in the next Bentley Residences skyscraper, which is scheduled to open in 2026.
