Nicki Minaj recently went on a charity spree, spontaneously offering to pay off the college tuition and student loans of her fans a few weeks ago. Her generosity, it seems, wasn’t a one-off.
For the past few years, Minaj, through her pastor Lydia Woodson-Sloley, has sent money to villages in India.
Minaj’s efforts have helped build infrastructure for different villages.
“There are two Computer Centers one in the village of Ennore and one in the village of Kolathur,” Woodson-Sloley told INSIDER in an email. “The Sewing Center is in Thiruvalluvar Nagar Ennore. The Water Well is in the village of Atipattu.”
Minaj revealed her work in an Instagram post on Sunday, with a video of villagers thanking the congregation for their work in building a clean water well.
“This is the kind of thing that makes me feel the most proud,” Minaj wrote.
In another post, Minaj posted a picture on Instagram of a prayer ceremony and said she was “proud of our brothers and sisters in India.”
“Our work is far from done,” Minaj wrote. “I’ll tell you guys more about my charity work in the near future in case you’d like to be a part of it.”
Minaj has been busy lately. On Sunday night, she opened the Billboard Music Awards with a nine-minute set, along with Lil Wayne. And last week, she was featured on Katy Perry’s new single “Swish Swish.”
