Gerard Butler (King Leonidas): Butler followed up the film with P.S. I Love You, RocknRolla, the Olympus Has Fallen and How to Train Your Dragon franchises and Greenland, which has a sequel in development.
Following a surfing accident in 2011, he developed a dependency on painkillers, for which he sought treatment in 2012. He’s had a fling with Brandi Glanville and wasn’t thrilled she talked about it in public and has, more recently, be in an relationship with Morgan Brown.
Lena Headey (Queen Gorgo): Headey later headlined Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles before landing her biggest role to date as Cersei Lannister on Game of Thrones, for which she received five Emmy nominations.
She also starred in Dredd and Fighting with My Family, did voice work on Masters of the Universe and The Dark Crystal and reprised her Queen Gorgo role for 300: Rise of an Empire. She shares a son with ex-husband Peter Loughran and a daughter with ex Dan Cadan.
Rodrigo Santoro (King Xerxes): Santoro reprised his role in Rise of an Empire and appeared in I Love You Phillip Morris, Hemingway & Gellhorn, What to Expect When You’re Expecting and the Rio movies.
He also starred on HBO’s Westworld. Santoro was killed off of Lost shortly after the release of 300, after his character Paolo and Kiele Sanchez’s Nikki were met with backlash from fans. In 2017, he welcomed daughter Nina with Mel Fronckowiak.
Michael Fassbender (Stelios): 300 was actually the actor’s first film role and he’s been on a roll ever since.
David Wenham (Dilios): Wehnham also reprised his role in 300: Rise of an Empire, starred in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and voices Johnny Town-Mouse in the Peter Rabbit films. He also starred on Top of the Lake and Iron Fist and will play Hank Snow in Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming Elvis movie.
Dominic West (Theron): West continued to star on The Wire through 2008 and went on to appear in John Carter and the 2018 Tomb Raider. He also headlined Showtime’s The Affair from 2014-2019, which earned him a Golden Globe nom, and will play Prince Charles on the fifth and sixth seasons of The Crown.
He’ll also appear in Downton Abbey: A New Era. He shares four children with wife Catherine FitzGerald, but made headlines when he was spotted sharing PDA with Lily James in 2020. West and FitzGerald, however, later said their “marriage is strong” and that the two were “very much still together.”
Vincent Regan (Captain Artemis): Regan later starred in Clash of the Titans, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Snow White and the Huntsman and the upcoming Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, in which he’ll play King Atlan. He also appeared on The White Princess, The Royals and Poldark and will star on Netflix’s upcoming One Piece series.
Peter Mensah (Persian Messenger): After getting kicked into a well by Leonidas, Mensah reprised his role in 300: Rise of an Empire, appeared in The Incredible Hulk and Avatar and starred on Starz’s three different Spartacus series. He also appeared on Sleepy Hollow, Midnight, Texas and Agents of SHIELD and played Blind Master in the 2021 Snake Eyes movie (right).
Tom Wisdom (Astinos): Wison later appeared in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, The Lightkeepers and the Hannibal TV series. He also headlined Dominion, playing the Archangel Michael on Syfy’s Legion spinoff.
Zack Snyder (Director): Snyder later directed Watchmen, Sucker Punch, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Army of the Dead and Justice League, which saw him being replaced in post-production by Joss Whedon following his daughter’s death.
After fans and critics alike eviscerated Whedon’s version of the film, a social media movement led to HBO Max releasing Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021. He’s been married to Deborah Snyder since 2004 and the two are co-founders of their The Stone Quarry production company. In addition to late daughter Autumn, Snyder has 7 other children
