Alan Ritchson has reprised his role as ex-US Army military police officer Jack Reacher but how tall is the star?

Alan Ritchson is back for Reacher season two with subscribers curious to know exactly how tall the actor behind Jack Reacher is.

It has been almost 18 months since the crime thriller series was last seen on Amazon Prime Video actor Alan Ritchson as leading man and ex-army police officer Jack Reacher.

Thankfully, the wait is done and dusted as the drama made a comeback to the streamer on Friday, December 15, with the first three episodes dropping in one go.

Based on the 11th book in the Lee Child series, Bad Luck and Trouble, season two is set two years after the events of the first series and the stakes are higher than ever.

Reacher receives a coded message that members from his former US Army Unit are being mysteriously and brutally murdered and he must team up with some of his ex-colleagues to put a stop to the attacks.

How tall is Reacher actor Alan Ritchson? 

Reacher stars actor Alan Ritchson in the titular role of Jack Reacher, both in seasons one and two of the action-packed drama.

Actor Alan Ritchson has been reported as standing at 191 cm tall which is equivalent to 6ft 2in in feet.

Author Lee Child describes Reacher in the books as a “6ft 5in ex-US Army Military Police Corps investigator”, meaning Ritchson is technically three inches too short to play the part.

Nevertheless, Amazon’s Reacher makes him appear taller thanks to effective camera angles and other creative adjustments so fans have accepted Ritchson as their leading man.

Reacher’s height is an important aspect of the crime drama as Child explains how he easily stands out in crowds as he is taller than average men.

He also doesn’t say too much in the books as his looming presence is enough to keep anyone’s attention.

For this reason, the casting of Tom Cruise in the 2012 and 2016 Jack Reacher films was heavily criticised as the Mission Impossible star is just 5ft 5in tall.

But with Ritchson in the role, subscribers have been loving the return of Reacher.

It is clear Prime Video has confidence in the series as well as it has already been renewed for a third season.

The announcement was made prior to the series two premiere during the Prime Video panel at CCXP in Brazil.

As series two has only just started, it’s expected to be quite a while until Reacher is back for season three.
