To date, half of the cast of the 2011 A&E drama Breakout Kings has landed roles on Prime Video’s Reacher — which leads Serinda Swan to posit in the TVLine video above that Reacher is some sort of “secret” reunion series.
Co-created by Prison Break vets Nick Santora — aka the Reacher showrunner — and Matt Olmstead, Breakout Kings followed a task force assembled by the U.S. Marshals to capture prison escapees. In addition to Swan, the cast included Domenick Lombardozzi, Malcolm Goodwin, Laz Alonso, Jimmi Simpson and Brooke Nevin.
Now as you’ll recall, Reacher Season 1 co-starred Goodwin as Oscar Finlay, the Harvard-educated, tweed suit-wearing Chief Detective of the Margrave (Ga.) Police Department.

Season 2, premiering this Friday (with the first three of eight episodes), finds the titular veteran military police investigator (played by Alan Ritchson) looking into the murder of members of his old U.S. Army unit, assisted by three former teammates — one of whom, Karla Dixon, is played by Swan.
Lombardozzi, meanwhile, plays Guy Russo, a NYPD detective who repeatedly locks horns with Reacher & Co. during their travels. (And yes, Swan and Lombardozzi share scenes.)

“It’s funny, somebody made a comment the other day on one of my [social media] posts, like, ‘Is this the secret [Breakout Kings] reunion…?’” shares Swan in the video above. “I was like, ‘Yeah, Reacher is actually [Jimmi Simpson’s] Lloyd. He just ate a bit more.’”

Swan then gives props to Breakout Kings co-creator Santora for getting the band back together, bit by bit, as he shepherds Reacher.
“When Nick told me, ‘Dom’s coming, too,’ I was like yes!” recalls Swan. “Come onnnn, Breakout Kings! It was great.”
Hmm, since Reacher has already been renewed for a third season, which Breakout Kings alum might turn up next…?
