During an appearance on KISS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O Show, Skarsgard openly discussed the challenges he and Kidman encountered while shooting the intense scenes, acknowledging Kidman’s immense contribution to their success.
“I mean, it was extraordinary to work fith Nicole. She’s not only an incredible actress but she’s also like the most lovely and generous and sweet woman. So of course, shooting those scenes were horrible. Absolutely horrible.”
Nicole Kidman Refused To Use A Stunt Double
Alexander Skarsgard shared that Kidman exhibited extraordinary dedication during filming, opting not to rely on a stunt double. He mentioned that while a body double was available for the more physically demanding and violent scenes, such as when he would throw her over chairs, Kidman insisted on performing those actions herself.
“She is incredibly committed and we did have a body double, like a stunt double on set, for you know, when I throw her over chairs and stuff and when it gets really violent, and Nicole wanted to do it herself.”

Skarsgard emphasized the importance of establishing a strong foundation of trust with Kidman before filming those scenes, highlighting its crucial role. He explained that the time they spent together beforehand allowed them to develop that trust, which was vital considering the highly violent, physically demanding, and emotionally draining nature of some of those scenes.
“Nicole and I had some time together to build up that trust before shooting those scenes which was crucial to have, because again, some of them are very violent and very physical and very psychologically draining,” he continued.
