Reacher Season 2 has kept fans coming back week after week. So how come Jack Reacher isn’t back for another bone-crunching episode tonight?
It’s a fair question, even after our hulking hero wrapped up his season-long investigation in Episode 8, “Fly Boy.” Surely, there’s still room for Reacher (Alan Ritchson) to dish up a little more rough justice?
And what about Jack’s romance with Karla Dixon (Serinda Swan)? Plenty of folks would like to spend a little more time seeing this love story play out.
Unfortunately, none of the above is on the cards, as Reacher Season 2 Episode 9 won’t go live tonight – or ever, for that matter. Read on to find out why!
Reacher Season 2 Episode 9 isn’t on tonight because Reacher Season 2 ended with Episode 8.
If an eight-episode run sounds too small for such a massive hero, bear in mind that Reacher Season 1 was equally as short. Regardless, Season 2 is officially done and dusted, and you’ll have to wait until Reacher Season 3 drops for Jack’s next adventure.
That’s the bad news. The good news is that Reacher Season 3 is already deep in development. Filming is currently taking place on the show’s third batch of episodes, which will adapt Lee Child’s seventh Jack Reacher novel, Persuader.
Persuader sees Reacher join forces with the DEA to bring down Zachary Beck, a suspected drug smuggler. While it’s unclear how closely the Prime Video series will follow Child’s narrative, Seasons 1 and 2 suggest you can expect a fairly faithful adaptation.
You can also look forward to the return of two familiar faces. Not only is Alan Ritchson locked in to reprise the Jack Reacher role, but Maria Sten will also return as Jack’s buddy Frances Neagley.
When does Reacher Season 3 arrive?
When exactly you’ll get to clap eyes on these new installments remains a mystery, though. Given Reacher Season 3’s production schedule, it could conceivably hit screens in December 2024 (mirroring Season 2’s December 2023 premiere).
That said, Amazon Studios could also choose to hold Season 3 back until early 2025. While this would be the fanbase’s least preferred outcome, it would nevertheless align with Season 1’s February 2022 arrival.
It’s worth noting, however, that both of these release dates are pure speculation.
