A woman was left in stitches after finding a hidden shrine dedicated to Nicolas Cage under her house. The shrine, complete with candles, goblets and movie memorabilia, was discovered when she called workmen to lay new cables.
The cable technicians found at least 12 photos of Nicolas Cage hanging from the ceiling, a kneeling rug, candles, a goblet, and a box full of items from his films. She had lived in the house for a year before discovering the shrine, leaving her wondering who among the previous homeowners installed it.
Her friend shared the story on Reddit, saying: “It was right under my friend’s bedroom too. When her mum saw it she got in there and cleaned it all out because she was way too weirded out by it. It must have been a set up by the previous owner. I only know that she was a middle-aged lady, not sure if she has kids.”
Nicolas Cage, a 60-year-old actor, producer and director, has starred in at least 119 films including The Rock, Raising Arizona, Face/Off, Con Air, and Leaving Las Vegas. He has won Academy, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Awards for his work, and has been nominated for two British Academy Film Awards.

While most people on Reddit found the Nicolas Cage shrine funny, some shared their own weird home discoveries. One person said: “We should all do this – a couple hundred years from now it will be a religion.”
Another added: “I had something similar happen once. I helped my sister move into her house, it had an unfinished basement the previous owners were in the process of working on when they sold it.”
“There was a room about 5ft by 5ft with concrete walls. Red paint had been splattered on the concrete reminiscent of blood.”
“On the back wall, there was a large Red Cross with three names written at either side and the top. Those names were the Father, the Son, and The A-Team. My sister didn’t primer it before she painted it white and the strange message seeped through. She almost had a heart attack when she saw it coming back.”

A third person added: “My father did something similar when he was closing off an old closet that the owners never got around to sealing up. He went to the back of the closet, measured it, and got a piece of long paper that would fit in there.”
“He then proceeded to draw a life-sized alien. I’ve forgotten what he wrote in its speech bubble, but it was something vaguely threatening. He taped and glued it to the wall, and then sealed the whole closet off, so it blended into the walls of the hallway.
If anyone ever knocks down that section of wall, they will find a somewhat intimidating alien, with absolutely no reason or context for it being there.”
