Nicki Minaj's 'Super Freaky Girl' Debuts Atop Billboard Hot 100

Nicki Minaj has just scored her first solo No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her latest single, the Rick James-sampling “Super Freaky Girl,” according to a tweet from Chart Data.

This makes her the first lead female artist to debut at No. 1 so far this year, and the first female rapper in the history of the chart to debut multiple tracks at No.1.

She previously landed in the No. 1 spot with the remix to Doja’s Cat’s “Say So,” and her 2020 6ix9ine collaboration, “Trollz.” Overall it’s her 21st single to reach the Hot 100 top 10, and her second this year after “Do We Have a Problem?” with Lil Baby peaked at No. 2 in February.

As Billboard reported, “Super Freaky Girl” brought in 21.1 million streams and 4.6 million in radio airplay audience impressions during its first week. It also garnered 89,000 downloads.

Following its release, she dropped the “Roman Remix” edition of the track, which saw her adopt her fan-favorite Roman persona with new lyrics.

Elsewhere on the chart, Harry Styles’ “As It Was” is at No. 2, Lizzo’s “About Damn Time” at No. 3, and Beyoncé’s “Break My Soul” has slipped to No.4.

Nicki has yet to announce if she’s got a new album on the way, but her last full-length arrived all the way back in 2018 with Queen.
